Candace Lamma

Candace (Candy) Lamma has lived in Rappahannock County since 1978. She retired in 2021 with 42 years of service from the Rappahannock County Public Schools where she enjoyed educating, supporting, and empowering students with knowledge and insight, based on the whole child philosophy, both as a K-3 teacher, and an Elementary School Counselor. She holds an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Longwood College (now university) and MA from VPI. in School Personal Services and School Counseling. Not fully wanting to leave the children; she still works several hours weekly as the Elementary School’s 504 coordinator. She has enjoyed being involved in 4-H in the County and is a 4-H All Star herself. She actively volunteers to support community events, her church and is a charter member of ADK, an altruistic Sorority for Educators with teachers from surrounding counties. She has served on several boards and executive committees over the years in the school system, as well as in the community. She lives in Flint Hill and has a daughter who graduated from Rappahannock County High School. In her free time, you can find Candy outside in her yard tending to flowers or mowing, Reading, baking, sewing, or relaxing on the beach.
